Deeps was started by Des and Penny Sibborn in 1992. We enjoy practising and developing the fascinating craft of chair seating.

Chairs are such as Victorian Bedroom Chairs, Bergere Suites, stools, armchairs, dining chairs.  I am often seen carrying a chair around the place.

We had a shop for 15 years at 208 Spring Bank, Hull but now work from home - still in Hull. We attend craft fairs.

Chair Caning - We started cane weaving with the basic 5-way  pattern and developed skills to include 

Close cane weaving, rush seating, seagrass, Danish cord and willow weaving. Double sided and other weaves, Bergere Suites. Also Prewoven cane.
 We are members of the Basketmakers Association. We have taken advantage of courses run by them and other members to develop our skills.  

Unusual weaves sometimes need careful unravelling to find out how a weave was achieved.

Cane Seat Weaving courses are offered.  Groups or one to one.  Set dates or by arrangement.
